30 Teams Confirmed for the 2021 Men’s Handball World Championship

The International Handball Federation (IHF) has announced the wild card recipients for the 2021 Men’s World Championship, thus confirming almost all participants for the upcoming tournament.

The World Championship is scheduled to take place in Egypt from January 13 to 31.

Recently, the IHF determined the teams that qualified for the World Championship through wild cards. Two special invitations were granted to Poland and Russia after deliberations.

A total of 32 teams will compete in the championship. As of now, 30 teams have been confirmed. The remaining two spots will be decided through qualification tournaments held by the North America and Caribbean Handball Confederation and the South and Central America Handball Confederation.

Unfortunately, Kazakhstan did not qualify for the tournament.

Europe: Austria, Belarus, Croatia, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Hungary, Iceland, Norway, Portugal, Spain, Slovenia, Sweden
South and Central America: Argentina, Brazil, Uruguay
Wild Card: Poland, Russia
