
Turlykhanova Gulnara Ismagulovna
Organizational and Managerial Activities
Since October 1999, Gulnara Ismagulovna Turlykhanova has served as President of the LLP “Handball Federation of the Republic of Kazakhstan” (HFRK).
In January 2015, after completing the state accreditation process, the organization received the status of the Republican Public Association “Kazakhstan Handball Federation” (RPA “KHF”).
In March 2025, RPA “KHF” underwent reaccreditation and was transformed into an Association of Legal Entities and Individual Entrepreneurs — the “Kazakhstan Association of Sports Handball Federations” (ALE “KASHF”), marking a new stage in the development of national handball.

Sports Career
1982–1983 — Member of the women’s handball team of Kyzylorda Region, where she began her athletic path.
Teaching and Organizational Activities
• 1990–1992 — Teacher of Mathematics, Physics, and Astronomy at Schools No. 30 and No. 33 in Almaty
• 1992–2013 — Director of a company providing hotel, service, public catering, and trade services
• 1994 — Founded and headed the fitness club “Daulet” (LLP PSC Daulet), the first club in the CIS to organize workshops and certification courses for instructors in athletic training, aerobics, pilates, callanetics, and choreography
• Since 1996 — Head of a farming enterprise engaged in livestock, crop production, agriculture, and horticulture
• 1999 — Led and implemented major sports and infrastructure projects:
o Capital renovation of an athletics arena into a martial arts school
o Establishment of the “Sports School of Honored Master of Sports of the USSR and Honored Coach of the RK D. Turlykhanov”
o Opening of the handball club “Otan Daulet”
• 2005 — Oversaw the construction of the first international-standard bowling center in Almaty (22 lanes) and later served as its director
• 2002–2004 — Initiator of the creation of a network of regional handball clubs and the project for building an international-standard training base in the Butakovka Gorge
• 2005–2009 — General Director of LLP “Kazvernal,” specializing in geological exploration and mineral processing
• Since 2009 — Founder and head of the “DANAKE” corporation, implementing projects in natural resource extraction and processing, investment attraction, and industrial construction
• Under her leadership, the following projects were implemented:
o Construction of the OpenSpeise business center “Baizakova-303” (28,000 m², Almaty)
o Construction of the B. Turlykhanov Sports Complex in Kalbatau, East Kazakhstan Region (2009–2013)
o Project of a cement plant for the production of oil-well cement in Shieli, Kyzylorda Region (2014–2018)
Sports and Public Activities
• Since October 1999 — President of the Handball Federation of the Republic of Kazakhstan
• Since 2002 — Member of the Council of the Asian Handball Federation
Under her leadership, the Federation actively develops grassroots and professional handball, organizes national championships, Asian championships, and international tournaments.
Key Achievements:
• Hosting Asian Championships in handball among youth, junior, and senior teams
(2002, 2007, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2015, 2016, 2018, 2019, 2022, 2023, 2024)
• Organization of international tournaments of the IHF Trophy series
• Under Turlykhanova’s leadership, Kazakhstan’s national teams earned qualifications for World Championships, Summer Olympic Games, and Youth Olympic Games
• The Kazakhstan women’s national team participated in the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing, finishing 10th, and became a two-time silver and two-time bronze medalist of the Asian Games
• The Kazakhstan youth women’s team placed 4th at the 1st Youth Olympic Games in Singapore (2010), won silver at the 1st Youth Asian Games (2012), and earned bronze at the 3rd Youth Asian Games (2025)
Additional Contributions
• Co-author of the “Physical Culture and Sports” Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan (1999), specifically regarding the differentiation of athlete bonuses
• Under her guidance, the Martial Arts Sports School produced 5 Honored Coaches of Kazakhstan, as well as champions and medalists of Asia, the world, and the Olympic Games in wrestling
• Organizer of a sports museum-exhibition dedicated to the achievements of Kazakh athletes, including USSR Honored Master of Sports Daulet Turlykhanov and world, European, and Asian champions
International Activities
Represents Kazakhstan on the international stage, including organizing the “Kazakh House” in Athens during the 2004 Olympic Games.
Acts as coordinator and chair of organizing committees for numerous international competitions, tournaments, and Asian championships in handball and martial arts.
